Overview
Reykjanes is a striking geological landscape shaped by geothermal energy, tectonic movement, and ongoing volcanic activity. This tour is ideal for those who want to experience the raw and ever-changing nature of Iceland. Located along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the peninsula sits where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates slowly drift apart, around 2 cm each year. This movement has created a landscape defined by volcanic systems, geothermal fields, and frequent seismic activity. In recent years, the area around Grindavík has entered a new volcanic phase, with multiple eruptions following intense earthquake activity. While active lava cannot be guaranteed, Reykjanes remains one of the most dynamic places in Iceland to witness these natural forces.
